Hello there, yes I am still alive, sort a. 3 days after my last post, my sweet~.. then freshman was using the camera for a video report, and you guessed it, got frustrated and thought he'd manipulated it enough to where he could make it work the way he needed. Needless to say, we have been without a digital camera for awhile. We recently purchased a new camera, upgraded features and now I need to take a class or corner my kids long enough to patiently teach me. One day I hope to return to blog land with pictures, thanks for your patience. And a big thank you to whoever left the best anonymous comment on my last post, you made my day and I appreciate your kindness.
Many Thanks,
Melanie

I will be taking a much needed break, but not before I create 2 new posts.
I have been gone. Emotionally, physically, and mentally. I am sorry to everyone who may have expected more from this tiny little blog. I am not sure that anyone one stops in, but if you do,.... thank you for the support. As promised I will post about the fun girls bedroom project and the almost finished result. And lastly, I have a new front yard/ porch to show ya. After that I cannot guarantee much. I will stop in when time allows and life is less taxing. Thank you so much for your patience and understanding.

Welcome spring.
Click on image for a bigger view. This is what I came up with for spring front porch decorating. I found items I already had and incorporated them into the mix.

Ever wonder where you've been?
Really?
Well then, welcome to my world, so glad I am not alone.
Honestly though, I seem to be in a daze. Maybe it's a lot of change all at once in my world. Maybe it's that my full time job is super busy right now. I might mention that I love my full time daycare job, it's the best! :) Whatever it is,.... I apologize that I've been so vacant at Blogland.
Last week was spring break where we live. Even though I worked the entire week I still had a goal to make some time to tackle a huge project with my girls.
BACK GROUND MUSIC PLEASE,..........................
Are you familiar with the term tween? Well, I have one, she is adorable and has the crafting bug like her momma. And here we have "miss almost 12", who really wants a room all her own. That idea will come to life,.... just not for a few years:( So, we are faced with few options. But,..... we managed to put a plan together, and yes we included her 8 yr. old roommate. Currently they have a garden themed room together. And yes, "it's very little girlish". So the challenge became to create a more hip, older feel, while still keeping with some of the original elements.
Ready, set, go!!!!
Here is a list of required changes, according to miss almost 12.
1.) Paint and update both dressers
2.) Make new duvet covers for both beds
3.) Redo window seat cushion cover and pillows
4.) Update certain wall decor
So where to begin? Shopping for paint, material, ect.
And here we find the best part,.... this project came with a budget of course, and the girls were both so aware of it. It brings such joy to watch your children, think, and analyze their choices based on a budget. LOVE IT!!!!!
Well I am happy to report that both dressers are done. And that just about blew us over, so we will continue on and take it little by little.
P.S..... Pictures to come, stay tuned.
Have a lovely day,
Melanie

Feelin Lucky?
Is it windy where you live? Well I know that March is typically the "windy" month, reserved for kite flying and such. And then,.. there's the Leprechauns on St Patty's Day. Anyway, I decided to combine the 2 on the good old front porch. Lucky # 7, a kite, and 4 leaf clover, all wrapped up on 1 porch. Enjoy.

Love is in the air.....
So here we have the February front porch filled with love. Once again I turned the ole black chest on it's end and ripped strips of material, then hung hearts from the strips. They are all attached to the handle of the chest. The suitcase was 4$ at the D.I., I simply brought her home taped off the silver and spray painted her red. The red chalk board used to be a sliver frame. Then upon the chair is on old vase with rocks at the bottom to way it down. Brown burlap and wooden clothes pins anchor the burlap around the vase. Then I cut hearts from Valentine material, hot glued ric ~rac loops at the top and hung them from my twigs (spray painted white). Above the branches is ( you guessed it) burlap again. Hanging on top of that is a red heart, old skeleton keys, and an antique door plate with key hole and knob. You probably recognize my old door propped against the house, love that door. xoxoxo, Melanie

Putting the house back together after the holidays?
So I challenged myself to come up with different groupings in different places. It was fun to move furniture piece's and bring out things that I hadn't used in a long while. Then I would place things and re~place, sit and study it, decide to re~do. It was fun, yet challenging and I am pretty happy with how things turned out. Have so much fun putting it all together in your home.
